Three Easy Party Games for Big Kids

Three Easy Party Games for Big Kids

Planning a kids' party can be a lot of fun, but it can also add to our stress levels with so much to remember; what allergies do guests have, what goes into a party bag (although that’s one we can tick off the list for you!), what this age group is interested in… the list goes on. Trying to come up with activities that will keep everyone entertained needn’t add to the stress though, we’ve tried and tested three easy party games that even bigger kids (who lets face it, can be a little harder to please) will enjoy:

1. Freeze Dance

A rebrand of musical statues if we’re honest! This energetic game is sure to get the kids moving! Play some lively music and let the kids dance around. When the music stops, they must freeze in place. Anyone who moves is out. Keep playing until only one dancer is left standing. It's a great way to get everyone laughing and having fun. Also, if you have YouTube on your TV, there are so many ‘Freeze Dance’ options ready made for you – ‘Danny Go’ is a tried and tested favourite of ours.

2. Treasure Hunt

Kids love a good treasure hunt! Hide small toys, sweets, or trinkets around your party area and give each child a list of items to find. For smaller kids use visuals for your list to make it that bit easier and more enjoyable. You can make it more challenging by adding clues or riddles that lead to the hidden treasures. This game encourages teamwork and problem-solving skills.

3. Balloon Pop

Fill balloons with small treats or toys and tie them up. Scatter the balloons around the party area and let the kids go wild popping them to find the goodies inside. You can even add a twist by having different coloured balloons with different prizes inside. It's a fun and exciting way to end the party and works best with older kids, as the smaller ones often aren’t so keen on the loud pops (much like us parents!).

These games are easy to set up and guaranteed to keep the kids entertained. Do you have any favourite party games that you like to play with your kids?
